A Boat Owner!

I haven't written in a while, in part due to laziness and in part because of an exciting update keeping me busy. I've bought a boat! And I'm obsessed, I feel like a kid in a toy shop, wildly excited and impatient.

The boat is a 32 foot Owen Woolley, a beautiful BEAUTIFUL wooden classic sloop yacht. And for all those who will tell me that I will regret this as wooden boats require a hell of a lot of maintenance and varnishing and are not ocean going, blah blah, I don't want to hear it. I'm naively but happily going forward with this.

I'm going to live on board, pottering out to a mooring to sleep every night, wake up in a bay with the sunset and only few other boats around, motor back into the port in the morning for work, and repeat. A dream come true!

More updates soon, leaving New Zealand for six weeks to do a delivery across the Atlantic with friends. Excited for this but sad to be leaving my gorgeous boat behind. The chapter on Mahana must wait till June!
